Web-based Notification of Admissions (NOA)

In close partnership with our plan partners, Beacon Health Strategies develops effective methods for delivering more efficient healthcare to members. A recent example includes Beacon’s innovative approach to using a web based Notification of Admission (NOA) and discharge application to allow acute and diversionary providers to self manage cases provided certain clinical parameters are met.

NOA was developed to streamline and reduce the administrative burden experienced by providers during the traditional utilization review process. NOA allows clinical staff resources to be redeployed from administrative processes so that they may be better used delivering high-risk and complex case management activities.

Beacon’s NOA tool, accessible through Beacon’s secure eServices web-site, enables providers to notify Beacon of admissions and discharges electronically. Behind the scenes, the seamless integration of NOA data into Beacon’s FlexCare behavioral health management system facilitates the identification of high-risk members and supports timely claims payment.

By customizing solutions to meet clients’ unique needs, Beacon Health Strategies, through the NOA process, has developed an effective tool in decreasing the administrative burden experienced by providers, contributing to greater focus on the delivery of behavioral health care to members with complex needs and simultaneously improving provider and client satisfaction.
